Two and a Half Men
Over the past months I have been enjoying a few sitcoms as time allows, one of them being the hit comedy series “Two and a Half Men” featured on CBS and starring Charlie Sheen whose real name is Carlos Irwin Estévez (just some fun information). The series in my opinion is brilliantly written and the cast does a terrific job portraying their characters and all that goes along with them. I know that the series has been in production for several years now yet only recently did I come to enjoy the twisted humor depicted by the show.
Now – I am not a Charlie Sheen fan, nor does this sitcom persuade me to become one, yet I must conclude that Charlie Sheen does an excellent job personifying his character “Charlie Harper.” He, as far as I can remember has starred in comedies including “Hot Shots” and “Scary Movie”, but who would have ever thought that a show like this would lead to the success it has with Mr. Sheen in the main role.

Here’s a little more on Charlie Sheen:
Charlie Sheen, who has starred in over 40 feature films, catapulted to fame in “Platoon” and “Wall Street.” His other feature film credits include “Red Dawn,” “Lucas,” “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” “Eight Men Out,” “Young Guns,” “Major League,” “Hot Shots!,” “Hot Shots! Part Deux,” “The Three Musketeers,” “The Chase,” “Money Talks,” “Being John Malkovich,” “Scary Movie 3,” “Scary Movie 4″ and “The Big Bounce.” He also appeared in the television movies “Rated X” and “Good Advice.”
Sheen became known to television audiences through his Golden Globe Award-winning lead role in “Spin City.” He was nominated in 2005 and 2006 for a Golden Globe for his role as Charlie Harper, and was nominated for Emmy Awards in 2006, 2007 and 2008 for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series for this role.
Sheen stars with Michael Jordan in the “Look Who” campaign for Hanes. The campaign, Sheen’s first with Hanes, features two humorous television spots starring Sheen playing himself as an over-enthusiastic fan of Jordan’s. He also stars in a commercial for DirectTV.
Born in New York, Sheen and his wife, Brooke Mueller, live in Los Angeles. He is the father of three daughters — Cassandra, Sam and Lola – and two sons, Max and Bob. His birth date is Sept. 3. (Source: CBS)
To conclude I must let you know that it takes quite a story to grasp my attention for me to watch and continuously enjoy a sitcom. There are a lot of shows out there that might be great yet I can proudly say I have never watched simply due to a lack of interest as the material, cast, setting and so forth may not be what I am into/looking for. I understand that this is a matter of taste, yet I know a few folks who have not heard of the show and so herewith they can no longer say they didn’t.
What do you think about “Two and a Half Men”? What other shows are great, comparable, or worth watching?
