Resume: Fall Soccer Season

The outdoor fall season has come to an end for our soccer team. We luckily held our first place position in the rankings for our league despite a few troubles here and there. Now the questions that boggle my mind is as follows; “Did we improve over last year?” (We had been relegated from 1st Division last year to 2nd Division this year after losing nearly all our games.) Are our opponents weaker/easier/inferior? Could it be the new uniforms? Continue Reading...

Twitter

Several people have been asking me about my consistent updates on facebook and how I post them. My simple answer - Twitter. In this post I would like to introduce an excellent web 2.0 application with extraordinary features that (personally) has come in quite handy for several purposes. Also, aside from introducing Twitter I hope to convince some of you who are not on Twitter to possibly consider signing up and start “tweeting”. Continue Reading...

Week Recap

Well the past week +/- a few days or so have been quite turbulent. I have a few topics I want to review and post, but currently am to tired to do so, so I figured I’d post a quick update about a few things here and there concerning me (without all to much detail and whatever pops into mind). Continue Reading...

Hallaro MP3! - the music brand

Hallaro! - our meta search engine that we released just over a month ago has been doing extremely well. We have had over 32,000 search queries since the initial launch. Two weeks after the search engine launched we integrated our new ad system “hallaro visibles“, and although it started off slow it is beginning to catch on (primarily due to its safe yet simple handleing). Continue Reading...

How to: Username Check

Today, with all the web 2.0 around, it gets quite difficult to keep an overview of all the usernames one uses for each individual service (Im glad OpenID came around) or for that matter what usernames are still available. If your like me I tend to use the same username for all the sites I register on. Ive always thought it interesting to see who else uses “my” username or anything similar. Well, I recently came across a great site that will go through nearly all popular and not-so-popular web 2.0 sites and in ca. 1min provide you the information you need concerning “your” username. Give it a spin and see what you think. Continue Reading...

Nike Burger

As some of you may know I am a huge fan of sports apparel including Nike, Under Armour, and Adidas. I came across Olle Hemmendorff’s site and found this wonderful picture. He was commissioned along with seven other creative designers/photographers/artists, by Nike to interpret a Nike Sportswear icon. He took the Air Max 90 and turned it into another one of my favorites: a hamburger.I’m curious if he makes a fresh one every so often or if you can purchase one. I should ask him. Continue Reading...

Hallaro Visibles

It has been nearly 4 weeks and over 32,000 (!) search queries since we launched hallaro.com - our meta search engine. I must admit that I am more than pleased when looking at the engine statistics. I also must admit that I too get a bit frustrated at server load times. When placing a query it does often take a few seconds for a response, this being that each search covers a multitude of internet sources and therefore this often tends to slow down the response rate. (This is one of the major issues we are working on for the next update!) Continue Reading...

How to: Tweak the old notebook

Often times many of us are confronted with the aging of our notebooks and the decreased system performance that comes along with it. Typically these issues are most noteable at the most inconvienent times - cash is low, you havn’t been following the market lately and dont know which notebook model would be reasonable to purchase. Well here a re a few tips that just might keep your old notebook around for a few more months without having to invest a $1k or two, whether you own a simple machine or high end notebook. Continue Reading...

How to: Convince People

Recently, I had meeting with a group of people concerning my endeavors with my startup. I typically never get nervous when speaking in front of a crowd (quite the contrary - I enjoy doing so), yet I would be lying if I didnt say that this particular meeting strained my coolness to a certain degree, but thankfully my swagger and key principles in talking (selling) helped me achieve success and convince those present. Continue Reading...

Success! Hallaro is born!

I woke up quite early this morning as I had to run some errands and get to several appointments, and the excitement of the launch of hallaro was still somewhere within me. Unfortuanatly (after little sleep), I did not have the time to log on in the morning to view any statistics or do anything, so needing my notebook during the day I took it along and figured I would take a peek at the backend while on the move.
